Partners
Partnership is the method
Caritas Gweru does not deliver programmes to communities. It delivers them with communities, and with the institutions that serve them.
Every pillar of our work names the same set of partners, and that repetition is deliberate. Community ownership and sustainability are not outcomes we hope for at the end of a project. They are built into who sits at the table when the project is designed.
Government line ministries
Programmes are implemented in collaboration with the relevant government departments, which aligns our work with national plans and district priorities.
Communities and local leadership
Communities and their leaders identify the need, shape the response and take ownership of what is built. Committees are trained before assets are handed over.
Parishes of the diocese
Parish structures across the Diocese of Gweru connect the office to the village, and carry the pastoral dimension of the work.
Caritas Zimbabwe
We are one of the diocesan offices through which Caritas Zimbabwe, the humanitarian and development arm of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops’ Conference, carries out its work.
Caritas Internationalis
Membership of the global Caritas confederation links Gweru to sister organisations and to shared standards for programme quality and safeguarding.
Institutional donors
Foundations, agencies and fellow Caritas members fund specific programmes. Logos and acknowledgements are listed here as agreements allow.
