Our work
Livelihoods, food security and nutrition
From dependency to self-reliance, so that families can thrive on what they grow and what they earn.
Aiding communities with agricultural skills, farming inputs, climate-smart and sustainable production practices, community gardens, income generating opportunities and the production of nutritious food, so that families can move from dependency to self-reliance and thrive on their own.
Caritas Gweru carries out this work in partnership with government departments, communities, local leadership and parishes.
What this covers
- Agricultural skills training and extension support
- Farming inputs and seed support
- Community and nutrition gardens
- Income generating activities and market linkages
- Nutrition promotion at household level
How it is delivered
In partnership, on the ground
Caritas Gweru delivers this pillar with government departments, communities, local leaders, parishes and other stakeholders. Communities identify the need, local structures are trained to carry the work, and ownership stays where it belongs.
